Glossary of Terms

We present a glossary of terms related to teaching online.  Not all terms are relevant in every online teaching situation, but some may come up from time to time, so use this as a handy reference.  The terms span the gamut from the purely technical to definitions of behaviors and theories.

The glossary is divided into two pages (A-M terms and N-Z terms), to simplify viewing and navigating it.  Each alphabet letter heading is followed by  "+" and "-" symbols, which expand all the terms beginning with that letter at once.  To view just the definitions for a specific word, simply click on the "arrow" symbol next to it, or click on the word itself:
