Technology Use & Support

Instructors should have appropriate technical skills to manage online teaching.  This means being able to access and use the learning management system effectively, provide basic technical support to students, or direct them to resources that support their success.  We have compiled information for faculty to assist them with these goals:

Tech Support and Availability

Information Technology HelpDesk (IT HelpDesk)

Call the IT Help Desk at (657) 278-7777 to be directed to the appropriate unit, such as issues with campus software, TITANium, password recovery or related technical issues.  IT HelpDesk is open Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

TITANium Resource Center (TRC)

The TITANium Resource Center provides faculty (and students) with self-help guides to effectively use Cal State Fullerton's TITANium learning management system (based on Moodle). After visiting the page, begin by typing in a keyword(s) and clicking on the Search button.  Request TITANium help by email at:  titaniumhelp@fullerton.edu.  

Academic Technology Center (ATC)

The Academic Technology Center (ATC) provides and assists faculty with technology. Stop by the ATC with any technology questions or request help with a variety of technology and software issues during walk-in hours.  The ATC is located at Pollak Library, South (PLS-237). Hours of operation are: Monday - Thursday: 8 am - 7 pm and Friday: 8 am - 5 pm.

Online Education and Training (OET)

The Online Education and Training department's mission is to create, promote, and support Online Education at Cal State Fullerton by helping faculty members create and improve their online, hybrid, and web-enhanced classes. Primary services include:

  • Consultations with instructional designers
  • Teaching and technology support
    • Tech Tuesday workshops (e.g., Camtasia, Voicethread, Google Docs, H5P, etc.)
    • Certificate Programs: TOP, AIM and OER Certificates 
  • Schedule audiovisual studio/media appointments
  • Closed captioning and DVD/video digitization services

Online Education and Training is located at Pollak Library, South (PLS-237).   Call or email OET at (657) 278-4528 or oet@fullerton.edu and walk-in support is available during business hours (Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm).

Support for Student Success

For technically-related questions or assistance, students should contact the Student IT Help Desk at (657) 278-8888 or email: StudentITHelpDesk@fullerton.edu.

Online Readiness

To assist students in their readiness for online learning environments, OET offers packaged video modules with important study tips and self-check quizzes to assess their learning.

Software for Faculty Use 

Cal State Fullerton offers a variety of software for faculty (and staff).

Software availability is sometimes dependent on licensing agreements; please contact the ATC for information.  To add software to your desktop computers, please call IT Helpdesk, extension 657-278-7777.  To install software in portable devices please take the device to the ATC, in the Faculty Commons PLS-237 (Monday thru Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm). To request software for home-computer use, please email your request to: softwarerequest@fullerton.edu

Software Training with Lynda.com

Online learning company Lynda.com helps anyone master practically any type of software. Lynda.com is free for all faculty, staff and students at Cal State Fullerton. Access Lynda.com through the faculty/staff portal with your CSUF login credentials.
